Diabetic Nightmare October 18, 2005 |
|
It could happen to the unaware!
Carbs are very bad for the unsuspecting diabetic. Being Type One is easier than being Type two in some ways because you can just take insulin to counter the carbs, where a Type two takes a pill or something similar in the morning to help them process the insulin their own body makes (there are some insulin dependent type twos, but they are a whole other ball of wax).
Anyway, no sugar added is dangerous. Take Ice Cream. Ice cream with "no sugar added" is more often than not only one carb less per serving than normal sugar filled ice cream. Don't know why. . .but that's how it is.
Now if you give a diabetic too much sugar without them countering it. . .They could end up in the hospital. . .or in extreme cases. . .dead.
Now go on about your evening!
:-p
