Kite Massacre, 2007
February 27, 2007
nextcurrent

Well, I found out about this at work and it just touched my funnybone. It probably shouldn't have. . . But hey, to each their own.

I guess that there is a Kite Festival over in Pakistan. And kites were outlawed after last years festival because people died. People were (this year and in previous years) using metal kite strings coated in ground glass to slice thru eachothers lines and make the kites fall and whatnot. . . Well these lines can also happen to cut thru people. Not entirely, of course, although that would be amusing. But people, including children, were killed by these lines cutting into their throats. There were a couple stupid deaths as well, falling off rooftops, and electrocution because the kite got bound in powerlines. . .

Just plain silly.

Laters!
