Look, look, the first snow fall of the year, here in my little sleepy town of Burlington, VT. It came down Monday.
Ok, it's not really snow. It's graupel. Which is snow, until it passes through "super cooled water vapor in the atmosphere, where it then collects layers of rime." Whatever. It's pretty much just soft snow pellets. I think it's nifty. But it can happen in the summer too, it just doesn't hang out for as long afterwards. ;-)
But I think that there is still some out there on the front porch, and it's been hours since it came down. The ground is still a bit warm for any accumulation however. I don't mind, we have to shovel the driveway ourselves, and the less shoveling the better. :-)
Enjoy!
