This is my submission for today's Photo Friday.
I took this with my old Cannon Elph LT. It was a cute little thing, it was stolen from me by the guys that do the baggage checks at the airport on my way back from Venezuela. When one of them was "checking my suitcase for a bomb," another one distracted me long enough for the first to snag the camera (which I thought I had hidden under one or two layers of clothes, I guess it wasn't enough). I was kind of upset because it had a roll of 40 exposure film still in it, with 40 exposures. Oh well. Life marches on.
All the photos I have put up so far have come either from that camera, or from it's replacement the Cannon Elph 370Z, or from the newest in the family (it's about a year old now) the Cannon PowerShot S200 Digital Elph. (Have you noticed I like Cannons?) The digital one is a good one for me because I take lots of pics when the mood hits me, and with this I don't have to pay developing costs that I just can't afford. We originally got the digital because Adam was taking an online college course (Folklore), and the teacher decided that she had to have photographic evidence that her students were really doing the assignments. Stuff like, putting together a jigsaw puzzle, flying a kite, folding origami, and visiting a "Cultural Event." And all of this was supposed to be with a young kid. But neither of us knew any children of the right age at the time that were also less than two hours away from us. So the teacher allowed me to take the place of a child. I had fun, I guess. I still don't see how doing a jigsaw puzzle and flying a kite with kids really teaches you anything about folklore. . .
Anyway. . .
This was taken at my friend's brother's graduation reception. The school put on one heck of a gala dinner after the graduation ceremony. And to think that this was for high schoolers! There was free food, and free alcohol. Music, dancers, and dancing, and lots of lights flowers and stuff. And lots of really well-dressed, rich people. My high school graduation didn't even have a reception, much less anything so spiffy as that night! But then, he was lucky enough to be able to go to an international high school, were I just went to a little piss-ant Vermont school. Although to be honest, I don't think I would have liked going to a school in another country when I was high school aged. :-)
Enjoy!
